Many people come to us with the same question:  What is Mediation?

Mediation is a place where individuals with a dispute can come to work through their issues.  It is presided over by a third-party, the mediator.  Instead of having lawyers hammer out their differences in a way that you may or may not be happy with, at mediation you have some control over your destiny.

The mediator is neither a judge nor a psychiatrist, psychologist, nor therapist.  He or she is an unbiased observer who is trained to keep the parties focused on the issues at hand and have them communicate their thoughts, feelings, and convictions.  By having both parties lay their issues and concerns on the table, a common ground can usually be found.
